Daily Selah ~ Give it up

Daily Selah is a mini-devotional, a pause to ponder about the Lord and how He wants us to live. 

Render therefore unto Caesar
the things which are Caesar's; 

and unto God the things that are God's.

~ Give it up ~

There are so many things we try to hold on to... things we have no business carrying around. Grudges, past hurts, secret sins, and whatever it is that you're hanging onto right now. 

In 1 Corinthians 6:20, we are reminded that we have been "bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's".

Jesus bought and paid for our redemption, our forgiveness and our salvation with His own blood and He says we must give unto God "the things that are God's." 

 Giving God the things that are God's means giving Him all of me and all that I carry with me. All of that "stuff" I have carried must be laid down at the foot of the cross AND I must lay myself down at the foot of the cross, giving all of myself to Him because I belong to Him. 

Father, thank You for paying the price for us through the blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You for making us new creations in Christ. Help me, help the person reading right now, to give to You everything that belongs to You, surrendering ourselves and the stuff we carry to You. Bring us to our knees before the cross and help us to live for You alone, I pray. In Jesus' wonderful Name, Amen.
