From hand carried letters to horseback, to mail trucks to email, to texting to video chat and instagram, the art of messaging has changed a lot over the years.
God has used many ways to share His message with us too.
He came into the garden to chat with Adam and Eve. Later, He spoke with Moses from a burning bush and in thunderings and lightnings on the mountain, giving His instructions for right living. Then, He gave His prophetic words through the mouths and pens of the prophets.
From Moses to Malachi, God's messages pointed to the same promise. The gospels revealed the promise and continued the message in the form of a baby born in a stable. The message became more clear as the Promised One grew and preached the message of the kingdom with signs and wonders to proclaim who He is, then gave His life so we could partake of that kingdom with Him.
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds -Hebrews 1:1-2
All of the different forms of messaging God used from the beginning carried the same theme. The Messiah was coming to redeem His people. When the Messiah came, God spoke to us through Him. God still speaks today to those who will listen.
His message today is still the same as He proclaimed through His Son:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
All of the messages before, and all of the Bible point to this one great truth that God loves us so much He sent His only Son to die for us so that we could be forgiven of sin and have eternal life.
God has a message for you. How will you reply?
