Part Two - Testimony of Prominent Jewish Believers
The following are just a few selected quotes from prominent Jewish men who came to faith in Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah.
“Christianity is completed Judaism, or it is nothing. Christianity is incomprehensible without Judaism, as Judaism is incomplete without Christianity."
- Benjamin Disraeli, England's first and only Jewish Prime Minister, 1868.
"From every line in the New Testament, from every word, the Jewish spirit streamed forth light, life, power, endurance, faith, hope, love, charity, limitless and indestructible faith in God."
- Isaac Lichtenstein, Chief Rabbi of Hungary, 1909.
“Christianity is the completion of the synagogue, for the synagogue was a promise, and Christianity is the fulfillment of that promise."
- Israel Zolli, Chief Rabbi of Rome, 1909.
“The Reverend Mr. Spyker read to me from the New Testament book of Romans where Paul says that Y'shua (Jesus) is a stumbling block to Jewish people, but that those who would believe in Y'shua would never be ashamed. Suddenly it all became very clear to me: Y'shua had fulfilled the messianic prophecies in the Hebrew Scriptures, such as where the Messiah would be born and how he was to die.... I knew that Jesus was the Messiah and is the Messiah. And I surrendered my heart and my soul to Him that day."
- Dr. David Block, Mathematics & Astronomy professor, South Africa, 2014.
As you may gather from their definitions of their faith, the men quoted above did not see Christianity (or, belief in the Messiah) as a replacement of the faith of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In fact, they viewed it as a continuation of God's faithfulness to keep His promises.
Again, carefully consider Benjamin Disraeli's words...
“Christianity is completed Judaism, or it is nothing. Christianity is incomprehensible without Judaism, as Judaism is incomplete without Christianity."
