Daily Selah ~ I am the Vine

Daily Selah is a mini-devotional, a pause to ponder about the Lord and how He wants us to live.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. -John 15:5

Pale green, with just a hint of yellow. That's what I look for when shopping for apples. The crisp sweetness of a golden delicious apple would never be possible without the apple tree.

You know your weaknesses. I know mine. Jesus knows us even better than we know ourselves, which is why He said, "Without me ye can do nothing."  He knows that without Him, we would fail.

I'm so glad that we have the promise of Philippians 4:13:

 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Without Him, we can do nothing but with Him, all things are possible.


Father, thank You for sending Jesus to save us. Thank you that, as we abide in Him, we have strength to walk in obedience to You and to produce the fruit that You require. Help us to remember to that Jesus is the Vine and allow Him to work in and through us, for Your glory. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
