Hope, Help and a Hallelujah!

{Daily Selah}

There's a lot of turmoil in this world, in individual lives and in families. We all struggle with something and we've all had worries and fears. I could give you a list of things in my life I would like to change right now but that wouldn't help you or me.

But I do want to share with you that there is hope, there is help and there is a hallelujah!

"The LORD is my strength and my shield: my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him" (Psalm 28:7).

Hope
David learned and proclaimed this wonderful, encouraging and uplifting truth:

"The LORD is my strength and my shield: my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him" (Psalm 28:7).

No matter what I face, and no matter what you face, there is hope. And, hope in God isn't an "Oh, well, I sure hope so" kind of hope. Hope in God is a deep, unshakable trust that is assured that our God keeps His promises.

Help

"...my heart trusted in him, and I am helped..."

Remember...

  • You're not going through this alone. He has promised to never leave you (Heb. 13:5).
  • You don't have to worry about what you need. God promised He will provide (Phil. 4:19).
  • You raised them right. God will take care of your children (Prov 22:6).

There's a promise an an unfailing God there for everything you could ever need. He's here for you and He will will help you.

Hallelujah!

"...therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him."

When I am struggling or discouraged, I have found that if I just start praising the Lord, my spirit is uplifted and encouraged in Him.  God is my help and my hope. God is YOUR help and your hope. Let's start praising Him together, because He is our worthy, faithful, everlasting Help and Hope.

Hope, Help and a Hallelujah!

I know Who goes before me
I know who stands behind.
The God of angel armies is always by my side
The One Who reigns forever
He is a Friend of mine
The God of angel armies is always by my side...

I'm holding on to Your promises
You are faithful
You are faithful

(God of Angel Armies, by Chris Tomlin)

Father,  I believe You will do what You have promised for me. I praise Your high and holy Name and say hallelujah! because I have an unfailing, ever faithful Friend in You and I praise Your high and holy Name. Lord, I trust You to do what's best for me and for my family. I trust You to meet every need. Grow my faith and my faithfulness, I pray. In Jesus' Name, amen.

{Daily Selah} is a mini-devotional, a pause to ponder about the Lord and how He wants us to live.
