Personally, I am not a "KJV only" proponent. If you look around this blog, you'll notice the King James Version is used frequently but not exclusively. However, I am aware that many of our modern translations have lost more than just a word here or a word there.
When translating even simple conversation from one language to another, something is always lost or changed. For example, the Greek language uses the word 'agape' to describe God's love; brotherly love is 'phileo' and 'eros' means romantic love. In English, we are limited to just one word to describe all 3.
This morning, I came across an interesting article on this subject. The writer provides an enlightening comparison, showing just how much has been lost since 1611.
