Daily Selah is a mini-devotional, a pause to ponder about the Lord and how He wants us to live.
Have you ever asked someone for directions and ended up lost? It happened to me once in MIlwaukee. One day, about 15 years ago, I was on my way to a training class at Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). I followed the directions given by a gas station attendant, only to find myself in a very dangerous neighborhood.
After passing a church, I decided to turn around and go in. Choir practice was going on, so I waited until the singing stopped and approached one of the ladies present. She directed me to the pastor, who was in his office.
That pastor "just happened" to be on the board of the Milwaukee branch of CEF, and also was someone I had enjoyed listening to on the radio many times. As my mother would say, "Ain't God good?" Needless to say, I found the CEF offices very easily then and was exactly on time for the class.
God will never lead us in the wrong path. He will always show us the right way to go. He says, "This is the way, walk ye in it" (Isaiah 30:21).
Sometimes, we stray off His path and go the wrong way. I'm so thankful for the Holy Spirit who will let us know, "Hey, that's the wrong way. Go back. Go back God's way."
God didn't leave us without direction or without a road map. He has shown us clearly in His Word which way to go and how to live.
He says, "This is the way, walk ye in it."
Father, thank You so much for giving us Your Word, for showing us right paths. Keep us from the wrong path, Father, I pray and help us to follow only Your direction for our lives. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
