For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish,
but have everlasting life. -John 3:16
It probably wan't necessary to add the reference for the verse above. Most Christians are quite familiar with the words of John 3:16.
When was the last time we really took the time to think about the meaning of those words? Let's think about it by posing some questions...
Does God love the homeless man standing on the corner of the street asking for help?
Did Jesus die for that neighbor that drives you crazy?
What about the people you and I might regard as enemies of the faith? Was the blood of Christ poured out for them?
Tha love of God isn't just for Christians, for those of us who already believe. Jesus said he came to find and save those who are lost. He spent time with publicans and sinners. Why? Because He loves them so very much!
The stripes on His back, the nails in His hands and feet and the crown of thorns on His head proved His great love for the whole world - for you, for me and for everyone!
Isn't it time we started proclaiming the glorious truth that the Creator of all that is would choose to die for people like us?
