We don't always recognize the new things God is doing in our lives, but Jesus Himself said, Behold, I am making all things new."
I realize that this Scripture is taken from the book of Revelation, which speaks, primarily, of future events.
However, the Lord is definitely in the business of doing new things.
He said, "Behold, I am doing a new thing;
now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?"
(Isaiah 43:19 ESV)
Think for just a moment of all the new things He has done in you. You might be saying, "Well, I don't know if I've seen Him do anything new for me for a while."
Maybe that's true. Or, maybe we need to just look at it a little differently. If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He has given you many new things. Here are just a few:
- He has given you new life (Romans 6:4)
- He made you a new creation (2 Cor 5:17)
- He has made a New Covenant with you (Mt 26:28)
Jesus want us to bear new fruit, much fruit (John 15:5). The Holy Spirit helps us develop that new fruit, making us more like Jesus (Gal 5:22). And the Father, well, praise His high and holy Name, His mercies are new EVERY morning (Lam 3:23).
If we ask Him, the Lord will give us new passion, new vision, new direction, new opportunities.
Jesus, The Alpha and Omega, is making all things new. Watch for the new things He wants to do in you and through you.
Thank You, Father, for making things new in my life. Thank You for the new birth in Christ. Thank You for making me a new creation. I'm so grateful that you didn't leave me in my sinful state, but that You sent Your Son to shed His blood for me, making it possible for me to walk in newness of life. I ask You to do new things in me and in my life, for Your glory. In the Name of Jesus, The Alpha and Omega, Amen.
