Yesterday, I had an appointment at the building in the picture at the left. (Nothing to worry about - just routine stuff.) The medical campus covers multiple city blocks, with several multistory buildings and I am, at times, directionally challenged. I've only been there once before, 7 years ago.
Thankfully, my good friend Krista went with me and we brought her GPS in my car. Before leaving to make the 2 hour trip, I prayed, "Father, please direct my steps and give us a safe trip." And, He did! We safely navigated several construction zones and heavy traffic areas and arrived in plenty of time.
When we got into the lobby, Krista said, "Listen." We went toward the elevators on the right and saw a young man seated at a baby grand piano. (No kidding - you should see the place. Extravagant is the best way to describe it.) The young man was playing and singing a worship song! Can you think of a better way for God to let me know He was with me and guiding my steps?
Thinking about the events of the day reminded me of Proverbs 3:5-6:
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
God is faithful to His Word and He proves it over and over again. We have no reason or excuse not to trust Him.
Father, please direct my steps.
Father, thank You for the many promises You have given us in Your Word. Thank You for always being faithful. You are a wonderful God, worthy of glory, honor and praise. Thank You for the way You guided my steps yesterday and every day. Help me to trust You more and to rely on You to guide my steps in all I do and wherever I go. Thank You for loving me, guiding me and blessing me. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Daily Selah is a mini-devotional, a pause to ponder about the Lord and how He wants us to live.
